A wronged man sought justice of a certain magistrate, and in course of his appeal happened to recollect that he had a hundred taels (ounces of silver) on his person. The magistrate assured him that he would see that he had the " right." Exit justice-seeker; enter his opponent with two hundred taels. On the morrow the verdict was given against the former applicant, who naturally expostulated. Quoth the justice of the peace, " You have a certain amount of right on your side; but he has double as much, so I decide for him."
